Are you ready? This is an appropriate question for this point in time in history. We are slowly and tentatively emerging from a pandemic that has kept us isolated and separate from the people we love. We sacrificed our mobility for the safety of ourselves and others. It’s been a tough 18 months but here we are.
Taking the First Steps
We find ourselves taking baby steps towards our emergence, yet still, we move with caution and care. It’s time to be optimistic, but remain diligent in maintaining the health and wellbeing of ourselves, our families, and our friends. Our hearts and minds need to remain open to the possibilities and potentialities that are available to us.
“A mind that’s open to everything means being peaceful, radiating love, practicing forgiveness, being generous, respecting all life, and most important, visualizing yourself as capable of doing anything that you can conceive of in your mind and heart.”
This is a Time for Growth.
It’s time for regeneration. But even as the butterfly emerges from its long sleep within the cocoon, it still needs time to find its bearing, to rebuild its energy, and to stretch its wings before it can fly. We are in the first stages of emergence, we are finding our bearings and preparing to take wing.
Opening Up to Opening Up
As we move into new, more expansive phases of the reopening of our state, we at Unity of Tacoma are looking at moving to in-person worship services again. We were able to do a test live stream from the church on May 23rd and we continue to learn more about how to create an inspiring experience, both in-person and online.
Keeping the High Watch
It’s our plan to live stream our services going forward so people who cannot join in person can still be involved in our community. We are also paying attention to the governor’s guidelines as we move towards opening the entire state as of June 30th.
Becoming Prepared to Fly
We will be having a few more test runs to make sure the sound and streaming have the best setup. In addition, I will be meeting with the board and committee members to make the best decisions for our congregation and the community at large. Be on the lookout for an announcement as to when we will be opening up the church.
